Pte. G. Hunter

British Army 2nd Btn. Durham Light Infantry

(d.2nd Jul 1916)

Pte. G Hunter served with the Durham Light Infantry 2nd Battalion. He was executed for desertion on 2nd July 1916 and is buried in Esquelbecq Military Cemetery, Esquelbecq, France.

Additional Information:

I work for Stockton on Tees Borough Council. We are planning an event to mark the end of WW1 which has a theme of "No one forgotten". Part of this includes a symbolic walk by some local residents to the battlefield where George Hunter was shot and then to his grave - where they will leave a wreath on behalf of the Council, Durham Light Infantry and something on behalf of his surviving relatives. Unfortunately, we are unable to locate a photo of George and wondered if someone may be able to help us with this?
