James William Santon died aged 22. He was born in Northallerton in 1897, son of Mary Ann Santon (nee Jones) of 49 Charles Street Jarrow and the late William Henry Santon. James William Santon age 14, a Miner Driver, lived with his parents William Henry & Mary Ann Santon at West Hetton Cottages, Coxhoe, Durham in the 1911 Census. He also served as TF/3576 in the Durham Light Infantry.James is buried in Epehy Wood Farm Cemetery, Epehy and is commemorated on the Triptych in St. Paul's Church Jarrow.
