87 Doris Ellen Webster Timber Corps My mother Doris Ellen Chaffey (nee Webster) was in the WLA, she was at Culford Forestry Camp, Bury St.Edmonds, she has told me some funny stories of how they used to sleep on "3 biscuits"" which were 3 square straw filled pads, and eventheir pillow was straw. She said it was hard work felling trees for telegraph poles and pit props. lots of blisters she even remembers the name of the hook that took the leaves off, a Bill hook. My mother is now 87, and would love to hear from anyone who was at the Culford Forestry Camp. We live on the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland Australia.
