John Dilworth
Navy
My father John Dilworth worked for the Admiralty in London at offices in Admiralty Arch at the outbreak of war in 1939. Apparently he had to sign the Official Secrets Act so he must have been directly or indirectly involved in classified work. Due to the heavy bombing in London the department was relocated to Bath, first working at the Empire Hotel in the city centre then on to the Naval Establishment at Coombe Down now known as Fox Hill. He did disclose to me many years later that he was involved in producing maps for naval and merchant shipping showing mine-laying operations in the English Channel.
I would be pleased if anyone has any information or points of contact which could assist me in my research.
