501152 Squadron Leader Douglas Montague Foreman DFC RAF 7 Squadron from:Chelmsford (d.13th Jan 1943) I am posting this message on your web site in the hope that someone can tell me about a fatal crash of Squadron Leader Foreman, DFC, who was killed at RAF Benson on 13th January 1943. He was a friend of my father, the late Flight Lieutenant A Seymour, who lost his life in November 1943 with 7 Squadron. I think he lived at Chelmsford before the war. Additional Information: He was killed during a test flight of a Mosquito when the aircraft touched down short of the active runway, colliding with a tree stump that ripped the bottom off the aircraft. As a result the pilot and observer both bled to death. I was to fly on this trip but took too long in obtaining a parachute.
