Pte. Percy James "Jim" Bridger

Army Royal West Kent Regiment

I'm trying to find out more about my Grandfather's time as a POW. All I know is that he was captured at Dunkirk, he was in The Royal West Kent Regiment he was sent to the coal mines in Poland, then taken to Germany and marched back to Poland. Sadly he is no longer with us, so we can't ask. His name was Percy James Bridger but everyone called him Jim

Additional Information:

This sounds like a similar story to my father, Charles Frederick Scott. he was in the Royal West Kent, captured at Dunkirk and marched to Germany. I understand that one of the camps he was stationed at was Lansdorf. He too worked in the coal mines until the end of the war. When he was part of the "Long March " towards Germany. However, as he developed severe frost bite his friends hid him in a hay cart from which ,I think, he was rescued by the Red Cross. Anthony Scott
