262919 Sylvia Vernon McLean Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Women's Land Army from:Winwick Rd, Warrington My mother was in the Women's Land Army from November 1941 to December 1945. She was lifelong friends with 3 of the ladies she served with. I have pictures of her at Yew Tree Farm with her friend Florence and a girl named Renee Solanken (sp?) that she wrote was Hungarian. She also has pictures of Bromham House and Corsham. She was very pampered by her family and loved the freedom of the WLA. Her family wouldn't allow her to ride a bike in case she could be injured.
