I have a photograph of my Granddad, Charles Illing that shows the lineup of the 2nd Battalion Monmouthshire Regiment's, 53rd Division Boxing Champions 1944. The photo has the names of the individuals and their ranks listed, with them sat arms crossed and looking very pleased with themselves and a silver cup in front of their Captain J.D.P. O'Leary. I have a number of other photos of my Granddad, showing them after they have captured a village with some men in bandages and them sat on the front of vehicles holding up a Nazi flag.
