261943 Fus. Emrys Rees Williams MM.British Army Royal Scots Fusiliers from:Caerphilly My great grandfather, Emrys Williams, was a company stretcher bearer and was awarded the Military Medal for bravery due to saving several lives during a shell attack.
Without going through the whole citation he repeatedly crossed a mine field saving several of the injured and when all stretchers were used he again returned across the field carrying the wounded over his shoulder.
It is a very interesting read.
