261871 Telegr. Trevor Rees Jones Royal Navy HMS Royal Arthur My father-in-law, Trevor Jones, served in the Royal Navy as a telegrapher from 16 December 1943 to 2 June 1946. He started his training at HMS Royal Arthur (16-22 Dec 1943) - does anyone have a record of the Class Number for this date? He then moved to HMS Valkyrie II (23 Dec 1943 - 21 Jun 1944), then transferred briefly to HMS Drake (Devonport). His first active service was on HMCS Qu'Apelle (re-named from HMS Foxhound) in July 1944. In late 1944 he sailed in a flotilla of landing craft via the Med to Ceylon, before taking part in landings in Malaysia in August 1945. After guarding Japanese POWs on Rempang Island he eventually returned to UK in June 1946.
