261052 Pte. Stanley Sowerby British Army 2nd Btn. Welsh Guards from:Abersychan, Monmouthshire Stanley Sowerby was my mother's uncle. He was captured at Dunkirk and spent the rest of the war at a prisoner of war camp in Poland. I remember him from when I was a little girl until my late 20s. My mother has told us that she used to write letters to him while he was at the camp. He did not talk about his experiences when he came home. He died in 2000, aged 89.
