James Fisher was blown up and suffered serious injury during a German bombing raid at Gosport Docks on 6th of February 1941. Jim's injuries were so severe that he was given the Last Rights by the nuns that looked after him. However, Jim recovered, and although invalided out of the Army, Jim decided to help others by becoming an Ambulance driver in 1951, in London. Jim will be having his 100th Birthday on 2nd November 2019, where a celebration will take place at the Nursing home where he is now. He was awarded the War Medal 1939-1945 and the 1939-45 Star.
