Sgt. Samuel Brown

British Army South Staffordshire Regiment

Four of the Brown brothers

Samuel Brown joined the South Staffordshire Regiment before the war along with three of his brothers, Fred, Jim and Joe. Fred transferred to the Northumberland Fusiliers and was wounded at Dunkirk. Their older brother John had been killed in the Great War and eldest brother Tom also served in the Great War. At the time of the newspaper article, their younger brother Sidney was hoping to join the Royal Navy. Their brother in law Thomas Harrison was also serving as a Stoker with the Royal Navy.
