Sgt. Ellis Verne "Bug" Hunt
US Army 1st Battalion, Co. B. 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment

Ellis Hunt enlisted and entered the Army on 3rd of August 1942. He completed his Basic Training and Jump School at Camp Toccoa, Georgia and left for England on 5th of Sept 1943 arriving on 15th Sept 1943. He was stationed at Swindon, in the county of Derby. He entered the war as a Private, Rifleman 745 was wounded on D-day, 6th of June 1944 in Normandy and in 20th of September 1944, during Operation Market Garden. He participated in the Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe Campaigns. He was discharged at the convenience of the Government at the rank of Sargent on 6th of September 1945 arriving back in the United States on 14th of Sept 1945. He earned the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster.
