My grandad Joe, Joseph Peutherer served in the Royal Navy, Chatham Port Division. I have his discharge papers and medals. He volunteered as a boy in 1939 and was conscripted in 1941 and was discharged in 1946 when he then settled in Portsmouth and opened up a bookmakers shop.
