L/Sgt. James Reynolds MM.

Royal Fusiliers 1st Battalion

from:32 Peter Street, Romford, Essex

(d.1st September 1948)

James joined the Army in 1939 and took the oath on 28th of October 1939. He fought in North Africa and Italy and was in the front line in many battles. He was taken prisoner for a short time by the French forces in North Africa. In a action close to the river Sangro in Italy James won the Military Medal, but he was wounded by grenade fragments. This action and James Reynolds are mentioned in the book "Always a Fusilier by C Northcote Parkinson" Page 170 He was wounded a number of times and this caught up with him in 1948 when he died as a result of his war wounds. I have James Military records and I have a copy of Always a Fusilier. I would be interested in any other information that is available with regard to my father.
