Pte. James Frederick Madeley

British Army

from:Sheffield

Jim Madeley was my dad. He was captured at Nijmegen when the house his unit was in was surrounded by the enemy. He spent some time as a POW. When rescued at the end of the war he was flown home in an Avro Lancaster. He was in the bomb aimers bubble at the front and got a good view of the White Cliffs of Dover as he returned home.
