James Henderson enlisted in the Army in 1942 in Glider Field Artillery in Holland. From September 1944 to May 1945 he was detained in Germany as a prisoner, moved to Usedom in Poland to Altburgund prisoner camp. The story is that he escaped but was recaptured. He was discharged from the Army in Jan 1946 as a Captain.
