John Forsey Royal Navy HMNB Devonport from:Pontypool, Wales Jack Forsey was my grandfather and I have found his Certificate of Service and I'm trying to ascertain, for certain, which ships he was on during WW2. I remember, as a child, hearing him talk about going to New York, where he bought my mother (then aged 3) a stuffed dog and he and his sailor friends used to take turns taking this dog for walks up on deck. I also remember hearing him talk of how some Americans picked a fight with them and there was a fight which went from one end of the Brooklyn bridge to the other! There is a photo of him and some mates (sans missing tooth) in a bar afterwards. I wish I had asked him more questions when he was alive. I think we all wish that.
