Sgt. David Hinshelwood

Royal Air Force 78 Squadron

David Hinselwood began his training in Ansons with Dalcross No.2 A.G.S on the 11th of September 1943, and moved onto Whitleys until 29th of January 1944 and moved into a Conversion Unit from there he was flying in Halifax aircraft.

He began operational flying with 78 Squadron from RAF Breighton with F/Sgt Prichard with Ops to Paris on 30 April 1944. He later in June went on to participate in the allied invasion on the 5th/6th of June 1944, Ops to Caen (2nd front), and Ops to St. Lo on D-Day. He ended flying on the 6th of October 1944 with 37 Operations completed.
