Raymond John "Poundnote" Bradbury

British Army 2nd Battalion Welsh Guards

from:Balsall Heath, Birmingham

Raymond Bradbury was my dad. He was English but couldn't get into the Grenadier Guards, he wasnt tall enough. So he was sent into the Welsh Guards which he loved.

He was a good singer, a tenor. So he sang his way all through the war and even when the war ended, he sang in the Solihull Welsh Male choir. He had a younger distant member of the Welsh Guards based in Windsor named Derek Greathead who lived in Pembrokeshire, when they got together it was magic. He died about 3 years ago. So Sad.
