Born in Belfast 15th April 1912 he was one of nine children of Robery Houston Armstrong and Jeannie Armstrong (nee Gamble)
Mentioned in the Supplement to the London Gazette 5th of January 1943 as a Leading Airman.

Lancaster III (E.D. 390) Take off 2135 - Missing. Nothing heard after take-off.
Bomb Load: 1 x 4,000lb H.C. & 95 x 30lb I.B.
