Eric Ellison served with the Royal Welch Fusiliers. I know very little about my Granddad's WWII history but have discovered his diary from 1944 and his Soldier’s Service and Pay Book. According to the diary, he landed in France on King Beach, Arromanches, on 18th of June 1944 and then marched to Bayeux the following day. The diary is very sparse of information with only place names and days he wrote home. A few pages have been removed and marked censor. I have 3 service medals, 1939-45 Medal, 1939-45 Star and France and Germany Star.
