250262 Capt Ernest B. Millward British Army Mortar Platoon 40 Commando Ernest Millward was my father's cousin. I believe he was an engineering officer and served as a Captain with 40 Commando during WW2 in a mortar platoon.
After the war he went on to be a successful golfer and as well as notable victories at home he was part of two Walker Cup teams who played in the United States. Additional Information: | I'm researching Jaguar Sports cars of the 1950s and 1960s. EB Millward's name has come up a few times connected with Jaguar sports cars (he later owned an Alvis according to the famous golf commentator Peter Alliss), the registration of all of the Jaguars was EBM 30. I wonder if this was Ernest Millward's personal reg? Is anyone in your family able to confirm this information? I would love to get in touch with any family members who recollect the Jaguars or have photos. I hope you can help.
