Our father Andrew Stewart was disappointed to be called a Bevin Boy, although born in 1925 I suspect he didn't think he would be called for WW2 but as a precaution trained in the Territorial Army. He did have fond memories of his time in Newcastle it was, however, tinged with regret over not going in to the main forces.
