249343 Gnr. Michael Patrick Fahy British Army 73rd Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery from:Tyldesley Mick Fahy joined the Army in 1936 to escape from the coal mines in Lancashire. He served at Poona in India and in the western dessert 1939-42. His unit was sent to Iraq to help quell a rebellion then he had a long service leave. He joined 73rd Anti-Tank Regiment, RA just before D-Day and fought with them until the end of the War.
He apprehended Himmler in Meinsedt but he didn’t know who he had apprehended until a few days later. He died age 71 in 1988.
