249220 W/O John Gray British Army 1st Battalion Black Watch from:Glasgow, Scotland My father, John Gray, was a bandsman, trumpet, in the Black Watch Band. He joined as a boy soldier in 1930. First stationed in the Black Hole of Calcutta in India as boy soldier, then travelled all over world with the Band.
He was captured at Dunkirk and spent 5 years in German prison camps. My father was one of the prisoners who had to march 600 miles under Germans when the war was coming to an end.
