My Pappy, Ed McDonald, served with the Grenadier Guards during WW2. Story was he was the tank commander, Rank Sgt. He apparently was decorated for liberation in Holland. He was one of the ones who was originally sent to Camp Borden to learn to be an instructor for the tanks.
