248865 L/Cpl. John Edwin Smith British Army Green Howards from:Stepney, London My Uncle, John Smith, born Stepney 1911 joined the Green Howards at young age. He was taken captured in Normandy in WW2, not sure of the date. He was a prisoner of war in Stalag XXa in Turun, Poland. He worked on a farm. Apart from the Long Walk which he survived I don't know a lot more. He died in 1958 aged 46.
