248734 Arthur Joffre "Bob" Cousins Royal Navy from:Woodford Green, Essex My grandfather Arthur Cousins, known as Bob, was on this vessel during the Normandy Landings. His duties were mainly to shovel coal, I believe. He later came to believe that there were known to be no mines in the channels they swept but that the ship and others had been sent to get the German guns firing to give away their positions. Fortunately they did not start firing, or I would be unlikely to be here to write this.
