248524 Dorothy Blackett Munitions Work from:Aycliffe My great great nanna, Dorothy Blackett was one of the Aycliffe Angels. She made bombs in Newton Aycliffe in WW2 and they were known to Hitler as the Aycliffe Angels. We are very proud of this. She was also a land girl in Gloucestershire, on a farm, milking the cows, threshing the corn and many more farm duties. She loved ballroom dancing, loved her family and loved baking, knitting, painting and drawing.
