248445 A/Cpl. George Henry "Tug" Wilson British Army 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers from:Ripon, Yorkshire Tug Wilson, from Ripon, Yorkshire, enlisted for 12 years regular service with the colours on 26th of November 1925 having previously served for 2 years with 4th Battalion, The Green Howards. He re-enlisted for four years on 11th of September 1937. He was with the BEF in France having embarked on 12th of September 1939 and was captured near Dunkirk in May 1940 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He was then force marched across Europe to Stalag XXlB at Warthelager, Poland where he remained until liberated in 1945.
