Cpl. Henry John Adam "Jack" Lund

British Army Royal Artillery

from:Addlestone, Surrey

Henry Lund was my father. He was captured at St. Valery en Caux along with the 51st Highland Division on 6th of June 1940. In January 1945 as the Russians were advancing the prisoners were marched westwards enduring great suffering during the winter and eventually met by the Americans and repatriated on or around 8th May 1945. He had married my Mum a week before war was declared and left her pregnant with my brother in January 1940. On his return he saw his son, by then aged nearly 5, for the first time.
