245716 L/Cpl. Noel "Sailor" Thompson British Army from:Lowestoft My Dad, Noel Thompson served in the first Chindit expedition and was separated along with five others when they were ordered to make their own way back to India. He eventually arrived back in India some months later and was the only survivor. Following that he was declared unfit for further frontline duties. When I was born, I was named Peter which was the name of his best mate who died just as they arrived at the Indian border. I would love to know if anyone lost a relative during the expedition, especially if his name was Peter.
