(d.20th Oct 1944)

My father Edward Lake landed in France on D Day + 4 and was seconded to escort a tank regiment, The Royal Scots Greys to give them ground cover. He saw action right through France including the Falaise Gap, into Belgium and was killed on a night raid to capture prisoners for interrogation about 5 miles south of Tilburg. He now lays in his final resting place in a cemetery in Bergen Op Zoom Holland.
