Fireman. Harry Jones

Auxiliary Fire Service

from:Harborne, Birmingham

My father served with Auxiliary Fire Service and National Fire Service at Rose Road Fire Station in Harborne Birmingham from 1940 to 1946. He was an engineer by trade and made Christmas toys for children every Christmas with his fellow firemen. I am very proud that he served in a very dangerous job in the war effort. In his spare time he was a funeral pall bearer as people were often killed in air raids. He lived at 219 Queens Park Rd and 56 Grosvenor Rd Harborne, Birmingham.
