Cpl. Herbert John William Robinson
British Army 101st Field Company Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers

Herbert Robinson joined the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers Reserve, as a Driver, in December 1936. In September 1939 he went to France with 101st Field Company, as part of The British Expeditionary Force. He was captured around 22nd June 1940. He spent the majority of his captivity at a POW camp for NCOs at Hohenfels, Bavaria. He was released on 22nd April 1945. After about a month in Gloucester City Hospital, he returned to active duty, initially at Stroud. In August 1945 he joined No.8 Dispersal Unit at Hereford, where he remained, until being stood down at the end of 1945.
