Pte. Frederick Stone
British Army 2/6th Btn. A Coy. Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey)
My father Frederick Stone died several years ago, just recently,I have come into possession of some of my father's letters to his future wife.
I could not, at the time, understand my father's reluctance to allow me to enlist into The Royal Corps of Signals.
He was with the 51st Highland Division that was captured at St Valery en Caux, and taken to Stalag XXB in Poland.
I am trying to find the route that the took on their way to Stalag XXB and their return Westwards when the Red Army were advancing.
