Victor Vincent Hill

Royal Marines

from:Southampton

I came across my late Dad's Certificate of Service in the Royal Marines. He enlisted as a Band Boy at the age of 15 at the RM School of Music, Deal in 1937. If I remember the story correctly he acted as a stretcher bearer when on the ships including this one. He was invalided out of the Royal Marines just aged 20 so his service was was cut short. He was very proud to have been in the service of the Royal Marines. When he became Captain of his golf club he was escorted out onto the course by two Royal Marine reservists. A very proud and moving moment for him. So his wife, children, grand and great children would like to honour him.
