240368 F/O. Douglas Alexander Herron DFC. Royal Australian Air Force 12 Squadron from:Sydney, Australia I know very little of my father, Douglas Herron's exploits in the War. He was Australian flying for RAF in 12 Squadron out of Wickenby. He was awarded the DFC. He rarely spoke of the war, however, he did call one of his boats PH-Able. We believe this was the call sign of one of his planes PH-A. Interestingly there is a A R Herron from the same Squadron who was a pilot of PH-A, he was kiled in action and was Royal Canadian Air Force.
