I have a postcard sent from Stammlager 383 on 28 August 1944. It was written in pencil on 17 August 1944 by Sgt A Harrison to Rev C Holgate, believed to have been Clifford Holgate of the Toxteth Congregational Church 1935 to 1945. A transcript of the postcard is below. Question marks denote letters or words that are illegible. I have no further information.

That boat is drawing closer so that do wont be so long now. I feel so happy, excited as a bird at the thought of seeing you all. Your May letter was a treat, plenty in it. I ??? produce is helping us (?) parcels out besides being a change, the sight of so many flowers makes one forget the barbed wire and guard boxes, its so good to be alive. Kindest regards to Mrs Holgate and that super ???? ????
