Sgt. Douglas Bridgford Gibson DFM.
Royal Air Force 106 Squadron
Douglas Gibson was my uncle. I know very little about him other than I believe he enlisted in RAF Bomber Command, 106 Squadron shortly before war broke out. I found an entry in The Gazette dated 18th September 1942 awarding him a DFM and I also think he received a DSO but have not found proof yet.
Sgt D B Gibson was a radio op/rear gunner, later becoming a Pathfinder. Towards the end of war and because he had survived so many sorties, he was posted to a training unit in Canada as an instructor. His second wife Grace Walker was secretary of the Pathfinder Club in London during and after the war. Douglas and Grace died some time in the eighties I believe.
