John Cumbers was an Air Gunner on Halifax QB F, which ahd the Nose art Der Fuehrers Fate. He completed 39 Ops and was wounded in action by shrapnel. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal for helping to shoot down an Me-109 and FW-190.
