Charles Connor entered Burma on 12th February 1942 with the 1st Battalion Scottish Rifles when they were sent into Burma following the Japanese invasion of the country. He was captured by the Japanese during the retreat from Burma about July 1942 and put to work building the Burma Railway. He
died in Japanese captivity on the Burma Railway.
He is commemorated on the Rangoon Memorial, Myanmar Face 10.
Charles was born and lived in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire. He was the son of Denis and Margaret Connor, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire and the husband of Myrtle Connor, Aberdeen.
