Reginald "Sgt." Morley
Royal Air Force
My late father, Sgt. Ronald Morley, was shot down over North Belgium on his 24th Op in early November 1943. He evaded capture and escaped down the Comete Line through Belgium, France and Spain to Gibraltar and then flew back to UK in late December 1943. Following this, he moved on to Dumfries as a Wireless Operator Instructor. It was there that his aircraft crashed and he broke his arm. He did a period of rehabilitation at RAF Hoylake, and it was whilst there that he took part in an RAF film that was being made at the time about the rehab work for wounded/injured airmen. Whilst much of my research has centred around his Ops and escape, I am very keen to find out more about Hoylake and especially this film. Would it be the RAF Film Unit and how would I go about trying to track down the film?
