227976 Sgt. Bertie Nicholson MM British Army Royal Artillery I am looking for information regarding my sister-in-law's father, Bertie Nicholson, a sergeant in the Royal Artillery. He was presented with the Military Medal by the late Queen Mother at Buckingham Palace. He was captured by the Germans at St Valery. I think he escaped approximately seven times. He was in Stalag XXA from 27th April 1943. I think his hut number was 2(3A). He has a number - 2891 - but I don't know if that was his prison number. I am also looking for information about Sgt Matthew Cooper, my uncle, who was captured at the same place. He was also in the Royal Artillery.
