225261 Charles Arthur Frank "Nick" Brookes Royal Air Force My late father, Charles Arthur Frank Brookes flew as a rear gunner on a Lancaster. He was also known as Frank but his crew mates knew him as Nick (Old Nick at the back "the devil") as there was already a Frank in the crew.
He died 21 years ago and since my mother's death more recently there has been no sign of a log book, service medals or anything pertaining to his service.
I would be grateful if anyone would point me towards any publication which has anything approaching a definitive alpha list of Lancaster rear gunners in the latter part of the war. I'm trying to find any information on my late father's service record and anywhere he may have flown from.
