223201 John Nevill Gunning-Wyatt DFC & bar. Royal Air Force 83 Squadron. Our father John Gunning-Wyatt was a navigator on a Lancaster Bomber in WW2. We are trying to find out more about him as he died after the war at age 40 from a brain tumour when we were both children. We do have a photo of him and his squadron in front of the Lancaster they flew the plane says Uncle on the side. Our Dad was 6ft 4ins so quite easy to spot. We cannot seem to find any other photos or know any of the other men in his squadron we would love to find out more. Our mother has his DFC and bar and also his log book. If anyone has any information on his squadron please let us know.
