222766 Pte. Robert Walter Hair British Army Durham Light Infantry from:Dumfries My late father who happily survived the war joined the Durham Light Infantry at the onset. He was an anti tank gunner. Unfortunately he, like many, didn't speak much of the War.
He was captured in North Africa and was interned in a POW camp in Italy. He escaped but was later captured again and ended up in Stalag 4f for the war he wouldn't have learned how to play chess or more importantly be a good poker player. If anyone has any information relating to the above I would be extremely grateful. His son.
