F/Sgt. Bernard William Alford

Royal Air Force 61 Sqd.

from:Devon

I have little information, apart from the fact that my father Bernard Alford was based at RAF Skellingthorpe, near Lincoln and flew as crew on Lancasters during the Second World War. He was demobbed in 1948. He and my mother were divorced by then and, as far as I am aware, he had had no contact with either my mother or myself for sometime before that. He emigrated to Canada in 1957.

This is just a long shot that someone might have some information about him which would fill in some gaps for me.

Additional Information:

Bernard William Alford was my Grandfather. Married to Jean Alford, father to my mother Susan Taylor, and to my uncle Steven Alford. He passed away in the winter of 1993 due to a massive coronary heart attack and left us all with ought the rock of our family.

My mother Sue was thinking of Bill a lot this morning, being remembrance day, and found this site after searching his name on the internet. This has impacted me quite a bit, and would love to get in contact with you to learn more about my grandfather.
